New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) In celebration of Ambedkar Jayanti, numerous distinguished leaders convened at Prerna Sthal within the Parliament grounds to offer sincere tributes to Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
Born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, Dr Ambedkar stands as a monumental figure in Indian history -- an eminent jurist, economist, social reformer, and political leader.
As the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, he led the drafting committee and subsequently held the position of the first Law and Justice Minister in Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's cabinet.
Attending the event to commemorate Dr Ambedkar's legacy were President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.

"In his inspiring life, Babasaheb created a distinct identity of his own despite facing extreme difficulties and earned respect around the world with his extraordinary achievements," she further commented.
Prime Minister Modi also paid respects to Dr Ambedkar, highlighting how his vision continues to influence the nation’s journey towards progress.
"On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realizing the dream of social justice today," PM Modi wrote on X.
"His principles and ideals will empower the creation of an Atmanirbhar and Viksit Bharat," he added.
