Madhya Pradesh Congress Prepares for 'Samvidhan' Rally in Mhow, the Birthplace of Dr Ambedkar

Bhopal, Jan 10 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Congress is in full swing organizing its grand 'Samvidhan' rally, which is set to take place on January 26 in Mhow, the birthplace of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, who is recognized as the architect of the Indian Constitution. Nearly a dozen committees have been established to ensure the event's success.

A senior official from Congress stated that the rally, themed 'Jai Bapu-Jai Bhim-Jai Samvidhan', will feature prominent leaders such as All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, along with several other senior party figures.

The event will commence with a march in Mhow, followed by speeches from Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. Esteemed leaders including former Chief Ministers Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh, along with former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria, are part of an 11-member coordination committee responsible for overseeing the preparations.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Jitu Patwari and state in-charge Bhanwar Jitendra Singh are conducting a series of meetings with various committees at the party headquarters in Bhopal. Jitendra Singh arrived in the state capital late on Thursday to finalize the preparations.

This event marks the first significant rally organized by Congress in Madhya Pradesh following its electoral challenges in the November 2023 Assembly elections and the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024. Additionally, it serves as the inaugural major initiative under the leadership of Jitu Patwari, who succeeded Kamal Nath as PCC chief in December 2023.

The planned rally has already ignited political tensions within the state. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has accused Congress of misusing Dr Ambedkar’s legacy for electoral purposes, asserting that the party has never genuinely respected him. He has also called for an apology from Rahul Gandhi for allegedly showing disrespect towards the architect of the Indian Constitution.

This controversy has been exacerbated by recent criticisms regarding a rally where PCC chief Jitu Patwari was reproached for placing a photo of Dr Ambedkar on his knee. This incident follows a clash between Congress and BJP over remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament, which were seen as disrespectful towards Dr Ambedkar.
