Ranchi, March 2 (NationPress) - The Jharkhand Police have confirmed the identity of a decapitated businessman from Rajasthan, who was found in Ranchi while carrying Rs 27 lakh in cash. His body was located on the roadside in the Khunti district, which lies adjacent to Ranchi, local authorities reported on Sunday.

The deceased, known as Pukhraj Kumar, was a coal trader hailing from Himboli village in Jodhpur. His family had raised concerns after he lost contact on February 27.

According to police reports, the headless body was initially discovered on Friday morning near Janumdih Mor on Kujram-Chukrumod Road, falling under the jurisdiction of the Maranghada police station in Khunti. The shocking news circulated rapidly on social media and news outlets, prompting Pukhraj's family to alert the authorities, fearing the worst.

Using the family's description, police confirmed the identity of the remains as that of Pukhraj Kumar, aided by documents and photographs provided by his relatives.

After identification, the police returned the remains to the grieving family while they continued their search for the severed head.
