These initiatives will facilitate seamless movement for people, goods, and services, enhancing connectivity to nearly 3,902 villages with a combined population of around 97 lakh.

As per the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the projects encompass the Kasara–Manmad 3rd and 4th lines; Delhi–Ambala 3rd and 4th lines; and Ballari–Hosapete 3rd and 4th lines.

The increase in line capacity is set to significantly boost mobility, leading to enhanced operational efficiency and service reliability within the Indian Railways.

These multi-tracking proposals are expected to optimize operations and reduce congestion.

“The projects align with PM Modi’s vision of a New India, aiming to empower the regional populace to become 'Atmanirbhar' through comprehensive development that fosters employment and self-employment opportunities,” the CCEA stated.

These projects are designed under the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, focusing on improving multi-modal connectivity and logistical efficiency through integrated planning and stakeholder collaborations. They will offer seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods, and services.

The proposed capacity enhancements aim to bolster rail connectivity to various significant tourist destinations across the nation, including Bhavli Dam, Shri Ghatandevi, Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra/Srinagar, and major landmarks such as Hampi (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Ballari Fort, Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary, Tungabhadra Dam, Kenchanagudda, and Vijaya Vittala Temple, among others.
