Kolkata, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials, on Tuesday, successfully collected the voice samples of Sujay Krishna Bhadra, a key figure in the extensive cash-for-school job scandal in West Bengal.

Bhadra appeared at a special court in India on Tuesday, which allowed the central agency officials to finally gather his voice samples.

Previously, three attempts by CBI to obtain these samples were unsuccessful, as Bhadra cited medical reasons for his absence.

The first attempt was on January 21, but Bhadra did not show up at the court. A subsequent date was set for January 28, but once again, he failed to appear.

February 5 was designated as the third attempt; however, it resulted in another failure as Bhadra remained absent.

Ultimately, a new date was arranged, and on Wednesday, CBI officials successfully collected his voice samples after he made his appearance at the court.

Sources indicate that these samples will be forwarded to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) for analysis. The findings will be compared against recordings of a mobile conversation involving Bhadra.

Despite having secured bail in the case initiated by the ED, Bhadra remained incarcerated as he was arrested by CBI in connection with the same investigation.

Previously, ED officials also collected Bhadra's voice samples. The trial related to the ED-registered case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Kolkata commenced earlier this month.

The case involves 53 accused, comprising 29 individuals and 24 corporate entities or trusts, as detailed in the chargesheets submitted by ED.
