CBI Launches Investigation into Disproportionate Assets Case Against Ordnance Factory Officer

New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated a case concerning Disproportionate Assets (DA) against Amit Singh, a member of the Indian Ordnance Factory Services (Batch 1998). At the time of the alleged misconduct, Singh held the position of Chief General Manager at the Ordnance Equipment Factory in Hazratpur, Firozabad. Currently, he is assigned to the Troop Comforts Ltd. Training Academy in Kanpur, as stated by an official announcement on Saturday.
The CBI recorded the case on February 26, 2026, citing that during the period from April 1, 2022, to December 31, 2025, Singh illicitly accumulated wealth totaling Rs 55,58,471, which represents 73.28 percent more than his declared income sources, with no satisfactory explanation provided for these assets.
After the FIR was filed, the CBI secured search warrants from a competent court, executing searches on February 27, 2026, at five locations associated with Singh in Agra, Lucknow, Bareilly, and Kanpur.
During these searches, officials uncovered and confiscated numerous incriminating documents linked to properties, bank statements, credit cards, and vehicles. They gathered details concerning three residential properties in Agra, Lucknow, and Bareilly. Notably, the Agra flat was purchased in 2025, while the Lucknow flat was acquired in 2023.
Additionally, jewellery valued at around Rs 49 lakh and cash amounting to Rs 5 lakh were seized from the Agra and Lucknow residences. Various documents related to expenses and investments were also collected during the operations.
The CBI is currently analyzing the confiscated documents and financial records to ascertain the full scope of the purported disproportionate assets and to identify any other individuals who may be implicated.
