New Delhi, Sep 14 (NationPress) The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned the appointment of Chandrasekar S., an IAS officer, as the new Private Secretary to Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan. Additionally, retired IAS officer Amit Khare has been designated as Secretary.

As per an official memorandum from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued on Sunday, Chandrasekar S., a 2014-batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre, has been released from his current role as Deputy Director at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie to take on this new responsibility.

The order outlines that his tenure in central deputation will persist until February 28, 2028, which marks the remaining period of his four-year deputation, or until further directives, whichever comes first.

Chandrasekar will serve on a co-terminus basis with the Vice President.

The memorandum, signed by Deputy Secretary to the Union government, Annies Kannani Joy, states, "Chandrasekar S. is appointed as Private Secretary to the Vice President of India (C. P. Radhakrishnan) in the Vice President's Secretariat at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period up to February 28, 2028 (i.e., for the balance period of his four years central deputation tenure), effective from the date of taking charge of the post or on co-terminus basis with the Vice President's term or until he ceases to act as Private Secretary to the Vice President, or until further orders, whichever is earliest."

The communication further noted that the appointment will take effect from the date Chandrasekar assumes charge of the position.

Similarly, according to the Department of Personnel and Training order released on September 14, 2025, Khare’s appointment will be on a contract basis for a duration of three years from the date he assumes charge, or until further directions, whichever occurs first.
