Thiruvananthapuram, May 12 (NationPress) - The President of the Kerala BJP, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, expressed on Monday his confusion regarding the rationale behind the demand for a special session of Parliament made by the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi.

"Interestingly, both Rahul and Priyanka are known for their irregular attendance in Parliament, particularly during critical discussions when they seem to vanish. The decision to call a special session rests solely with the Central government, especially in light of the recent India-Pakistan tensions," he remarked.

Chandrasekhar elaborated, "The aggression we have witnessed in recent days is unprecedented. Our defence forces have delivered a substantial blow to Pakistan, showcasing the meticulous enhancement of our military capabilities over the last decade."

He asserted, "What has occurred is something that independent India has never experienced before. Our Prime Minister and the armed forces have explicitly stated that any terrorist action will be treated as an act of war, warranting an adequate response. The destruction of 11 airfields in Pakistan stands as a testament to our air defence strength."

Chandrasekhar emphasized, "It is crucial to note that not a single missile from Pakistan managed to breach our airspace, which clearly demonstrates our superiority in air defence strategies. Furthermore, our Prime Minister has granted our forces the autonomy to effectively address any incursions from Pakistan, and they executed their tasks exceptionally well," he added, highlighting that India has always responded defensively and has never instigated conflict.

Point of View

It's crucial to recognize the importance of political discourse surrounding national security. The call for a special session reflects a vital engagement in parliamentary democracy, even as we weigh the actions of both the government and the opposition. Our priority remains the nation's stability and the assurance that leadership on both sides focuses on what best serves the country's interests.
