Char Dham Yatra 2025: Orange Alert on May 12-13, Uttarakhand Urges Pilgrims to Stay Safe
The Uttarakhand administration has urged pilgrims and tourists undertaking the Char Dham Yatra to exercise caution and plan their travel carefully amid an orange alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for heavy rainfall and adverse weather across the hill state, particularly on 12 and 13 May. Officials made the appeal on Sunday, 10 May, warning that hilly areas face heightened risk during the forecast window.
Orange Alert and Travel Advisory
Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey appealed directly to devotees and tourists to stay updated on weather conditions before and during their journey. He specifically urged pilgrims to exercise extra caution while planning their itineraries for 12 and 13 May, given the sensitivity of mountain weather during this period.
