Patna, May 19 (NationPress) Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan on Monday vehemently condemned the Trinamool Congress for its decision to boycott an all-party delegation focused on terrorism, emphasizing the necessity for political unity on international stages.
"Politics should not interfere with critical issues. While representing our nation on a global scale, personal differences and controversies must be set aside. Such actions do not serve our national interest," Paswan remarked.
He stressed that political disputes ought not to hinder matters related to national security and international diplomacy.
Paswan's comments followed the Trinamool Congress (TMC) officially withdrawing from an all-party delegation that aimed to highlight Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in various countries. The party informed the Centre that neither Yusuf Pathan, a TMC MP, nor any other representative would join the international mission.
This decision has sparked reactions from various political factions, with numerous NDA leaders criticizing the move.
Sources indicate that Yusuf Pathan has notified the Central government about his unavailability for the international tour.
In the meantime, BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal suggested that the withdrawal of Yusuf Pathan was influenced by political insecurity within the Trinamool.
"Yusuf is an established international cricketer. Mamata Banerjee feels uneasy when someone else gains popularity. That’s why Yusuf Pathan's name was dropped," he asserted.
Jaiswal also addressed India’s recent prohibition on the import of plastic and ready-made garments from Bangladesh, supporting it as a move towards trade parity.
"If you’re collecting taxes from India, you must pay the same to India. The ban is warranted," he stated.
Jaiswal further emphasized the developmental progress in Bihar under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that the NDA's increasing popularity stems from its performance.
