New Delhi, Nov 16 (NationPress) Union Minister Chirag Paswan expressed profound empathy on Sunday regarding the disclosures made by Rohini Acharya, the daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, stating that he has always viewed the RJD leader's family as his own.
In a conversation with the press, Chirag remarked, “I cannot comment on this situation because when a family faces such challenging times, I can relate to the emotional turmoil they are experiencing, having gone through similar circumstances myself. Although we may have had political disagreements, I have consistently considered Lalu ji’s family to be like my own. I have always seen Tejashwi, Tej, Misa, Rohini, and the rest as my brothers and sisters...”
On the other hand, Minister Madan Sahni launched a vehement critique of the RJD, connecting Rohini’s distress to a perceived ongoing pattern.
He stated, “The citizens of Bihar should never anticipate any positive outcomes from this family. It’s not just about the daughter; numerous others have faced humiliation. Throughout their 15 years in power, they disrespected everyone and fostered a toxic atmosphere. Now, even within the family, they are exacerbating the situation and dishonoring the daughter who once played a vital role in saving their lives...”
Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa also questioned the unity within the party, saying, “This clearly indicates that they are engaged in a struggle for power and are disconnected from Bihar. Rohini Acharya's decision to speak out highlights the severity of the internal conflict within the family...”
Chairperson of the Bihar Women’s Commission, Apsara Mishra, conveyed her worries, stating, “We have also viewed the referred video. It is profoundly distressing for any woman to endure such treatment from her own family, leading to humiliation and pain...”
BJP spokesperson R.P. Singh attributed Rohini’s departure from both the party and family to what he termed an inevitable result of dynastic politics.
“This is quite typical, and Prime Minister Modi has previously mentioned that internal conflicts are part of the process. The way dynastic parties operate, this is to be expected. They were unified only to engage in corruption, and now that they are out of power and see no way back, they have started fighting among themselves,” he mentioned.
Rohini Acharya’s public outcry commenced over the weekend when she made alarming allegations on X, stating she faced humiliation, verbal abuse, and was “torn away” from her family home.
She claimed that a slipper was raised to strike her and accused individuals close to Tejashwi Yadav, namely Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, of pressuring her to exit politics.
Previously, she stated, “I’m leaving politics and disowning my family… This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez instructed me to do… and I’m willing to accept all the blame.”
A kidney donor to her father in 2022 and a significant campaigner in recent elections, Rohini’s sudden withdrawal raises further questions about the internal discord within the RJD’s leading family, particularly as the party grapples with its most challenging electoral performance.
