Patna, Sep 7 (NationPress) Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Choudhary has vehemently criticized the reported vandalism of the Ashoka Emblem on a newly unveiled inauguration plaque at the Hazratbal Dargah in Jammu and Kashmir.

She labeled the occurrence as “deeply unfortunate”, viewing it as an insult to the essence of national unity.

In her remarks to IANS, MP Choudhary expressed, “The Ashoka Chakra embodies the spirit and unity of India. It symbolizes our national integrity. Such acts, which stem from communal ideologies, must be denounced.”

She underscored that no faith advocates for actions that undermine national unity, emphasizing that all religions prioritize the welfare of the nation. “The perpetrators of this act must face justice,” she asserted.

Simultaneously, Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary dubbed the situation a serious concern for discussion. “The Ashoka Emblem is the national symbol of the Government of India. Though some may appreciate it, others may oppose — such differences do not legitimize vandalism,” he stated.

Bihar Governor Mohammad Arif Khan took a firm position, linking the act to long-standing issues of infiltration and discontent: “For years, infiltration has persisted. Now, as these elements feel powerless to pursue their previous agendas, they resort to such symbolic assaults.”

He further remarked: “I stand with those who take pride in being Indian.”

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) echoed this sentiment, declaring, “The Ashoka Emblem represents our nation's pride. Anyone attempting to damage or disrespect it must be held accountable.”

Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha also denounced the act: “This is not only unfortunate but also disgraceful. The Ashoka Emblem signifies our national pride. Any attempt to tamper with it reveals a flawed and divisive mentality.”

He additionally accused parties such as Congress and the National Conference of indirectly fostering such behavior. “They should apologize, and action should be taken, but regrettably, they will likely remain silent,” he concluded.

This incident has ignited a wave of political reactions, with demands for accountability and calls to uphold national symbols with the respect they deserve.
