Patna, June 6 (NationPress) Shambhavi Choudhary, leader of Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas, vehemently condemned the Congress for labeling Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi as 'Jan Nayak', emphasizing that the legacy of Karpoori Thakur cannot be replicated.

In an interview with IANS, Choudhary remarked: "I doubt the Congress truly understands the life and contributions of Karpoori Thakur. His significance and achievements are unparalleled. To equate him with Rahul Gandhi is nothing short of an insult. Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur was not merely a figure; he represented an entire ideology, one that has profoundly influenced the political landscape of our nation. Another Karpoori Thakur is simply not possible."

She further questioned the Congress's motives, pointing out the party's failure to honor Thakur during their rule.

"If the Congress intends to politicize his legacy, they must first explain why he was not honored with the Bharat Ratna while they held power. They overlooked his contributions then, yet now, with the NDA government bestowing him this honor, they dare to call him 'Jan Nayak'? This is a puzzling kind of politics. It would be wise for them to refrain from such tactics."

Thakur, a revered socialist leader and former Chief Minister of Bihar, was awarded the Bharat Ratna posthumously by the NDA government in 2024.

Choudhary also commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's impending visit to Siwan district in Bihar on June 20.

"It is delightful that the Prime Minister is coming to Siwan. The portrayal of Siwan in certain media reflects a bygone era, before 2005. Today, thanks to the NDA government, Siwan is a place free from fear. The Prime Minister has played a pivotal role in elevating Bihar from a developing state to a developed one."

This visit will be PM Modi’s fifth to Bihar since the 2024 parliamentary elections, following earlier trips to Jamui in December, Bhagalpur in February, Madhubani in April, and Bikramganj in May.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Bihar, Shambhavi Choudhary stated: "There’s no issue with his presence here. Bihar’s culture embraces guests with ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. However, we must remember that during his party’s governance, little was accomplished for women. Genuine efforts for women empowerment have only been made under the NDA government."
