Patna, Oct 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off his Bihar Assembly election campaign in Samastipur, the birthplace of Bharat Ratna Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur, on Friday, addressing a substantial gathering. The Prime Minister invoked Karpoori Thakur's legacy while launching a pointed critique of the RJD-Congress alliance, claiming they prioritize their own families over the welfare of Bihar's citizens.
“The RJD and Congress are solely focused on their family’s political future. This is why they are setting new records in deceiving the youth of Bihar. Where the RJD thrives, law and order deteriorates. Under their rule, extortion, murder, ransom, and kidnapping became rampant,” PM Modi asserted.
In a direct jab at the RJD’s jungle raj era, he remarked, “The RJD’s jungle raj has devastated multiple generations of Bihar. These individuals are currently out on bail from scams amounting to thousands of crores. Their penchant for theft is so profound that they are now attempting to pilfer the title of ‘Jan Nayak’. The people of Bihar will not stand for this affront to Karpoori Babu.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the NDA government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, is committed to transforming good governance into prosperity, inspired by Thakur’s values.
“Development work is ongoing in every corner of Bihar. Roads, electricity, water, internet, and gas connections are not merely amenities but instruments of empowerment,” he stated.
Stressing the NDA government’s dedication to infrastructure and welfare, PM Modi claimed, “The BJP-NDA government has allocated three times more funds for Bihar’s development than during the Congress era. A six-lane highway is underway from Samastipur to Purnea, new railway lines and Vande Bharat trains are being introduced, and new power plants are on the horizon.”
PM Modi also unveiled plans for the makhana (fox nut) farmers of Mithila, calling the establishment of a Makhana Board a catalyst for a new agricultural revolution.
“Through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, over Rs 28,000 crore has been directly credited to the accounts of Bihar’s farmers,” he added.
In reference to women’s empowerment, the Prime Minister lauded the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme, noting that Rs 10,000 has been transferred to 1.2 crore women in Bihar.
“Once the NDA government is re-elected after November 14, additional incentives will be introduced to empower our sisters throughout Bihar,” PM Modi assured.
He expressed gratitude to the crowd for their overwhelming turnout, despite the festive season.
“You’re celebrating the GST Savings Festival and gearing up for Chhath Puja, yet you’ve come out in such large numbers. The atmosphere in Samastipur and the spirit of Mithila confirm it -- the NDA government will return!”
Prior to his speech, the Prime Minister visited Karpoori Gram, where he paid homage to Karpoori Thakur and engaged with his family.
“It is his blessings that individuals like us, hailing from impoverished and marginalized backgrounds, are on this platform today,” Modi remarked.
Reflecting on Thakur’s contributions to social justice, he noted, “Karpoori Thakur was a true jewel of Mother India. Our government had the honor to bestow upon him the Bharat Ratna. Inspired by his vision, we have endeavored to uplift the poor, Dalits, Mahadalits, backward and extremely backward classes. Our administration has introduced a 10 percent reservation for economically weaker sections and extended reservations for SCs and STs for another decade.”
With this rally, PM Modi has officially ignited the campaign for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025, establishing a narrative centered on development, social justice, and stability.
