Patna, Sep 12 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader and MP Anurag Thakur vehemently criticized the RJD-Congress alliance on Friday, accusing its members of disrespecting the late mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
At a press conference at Patna Airport, Thakur emphasized that the people of Bihar will not stand for such derogatory comments.
"The citizens of Bihar are well aware of the offensive language used by leaders of RJD and Congress. This is a region rooted in democracy, where voices were raised against the Emergency, and it is also the birthplace of the mother of Samrat Ashok. The people of Bihar will respond decisively to those who have insulted PM Modi's mother," Thakur stated.
In his remarks aimed at RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, the BJP leader accused him of forging an alliance with Rahul Gandhi, a leader who has faced repeated electoral failures nationwide. "Under Rahul Gandhi, the Congress has suffered losses in 90 elections. Lalu himself is out on bail after being convicted in corruption cases. The RJD-Congress partnership is rooted in corruption, and the people will not permit Jungle Raj to return to Bihar," he asserted.
Thakur further criticized the opposition for casting doubts on the Election Commission of India.
"Initially, they questioned EVMs; now they are skeptical about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Their candidate lost during the Vice President's election held with paper ballots, resulting in the cancellation of 15 votes. Whenever they face defeat, they blame EVMs. The Election Commission has requested evidence from them, but they never provide any," he explained.
Addressing concerns regarding the INDIA bloc ally DMK, he raised issues related to cultural remarks.
"Recently, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin visited Bihar, and he along with his son made inappropriate comments about Hindu deities, opposing Lord Ram, Ram Setu, and the Ram temple. Yet, the RJD and Congress share platforms with him. The people of Bihar will question why such leaders are accommodated," he added.
As Bihar gears up for crucial Assembly elections, Thakur's statements intensify the BJP's counter-narrative against the opposition's stance on governance, secularism, and the integrity of elections.
