New Delhi, Sep 13 (NationPress) Lok Sabha MP and former Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur on Saturday harshly condemned the Bihar Congress and RJD for disseminating a controversial video on social media that purportedly ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother.
He stated that this act exemplified the “low level of politics” practiced by the opposition and emphasized that the people of Bihar and the nation would never pardon such behavior.
In an interview with IANS, Thakur remarked, “The role of a mother who gives birth holds the utmost significance in everyone’s life. Yet, Congress and RJD have degraded themselves to the point of using derogatory terms against PM Modi’s late mother and propagating such inappropriate videos. This reflects the mindset of Congress. Is it necessary to stoop to such depths in politics? Is it essential to insult someone’s mother?”
Thakur further accused Congress of failing to apologize for their previous controversial statements and repeating such actions.
“Congress did not express remorse the first time and has now repeated the same blunder. The people of Bihar and this nation will never forgive Congress for this. In the upcoming elections, the public will respond decisively against Congress and RJD,” he added.
He also criticized opposition leaders who recently suggested that India might experience a situation akin to Nepal.
“These are merely the wishes of the opposition,” he stated, rejecting such parallels as unfounded.
The controversy ignited earlier this week after the Bihar Congress shared an AI-generated video on X, which the BJP labeled as “highly disrespectful” towards PM Modi’s late mother, Heeraben Modi.
The BJP has called for an apology and has even filed a police report, while Congress leaders attempted to minimize the situation.
This incident has intensified the exchanges between the ruling party and the opposition as the upcoming Assembly elections approach, with the BJP leveraging the issue to challenge the Congress’s “culture of disrespect.”
