Patna, Feb 28 (NationPress) In response to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's assertion that JD(U) and BJP leaders are obstructing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant from entering state politics, Bihar Rural Work Minister Ashok Choudhary suggested that Tejashwi should not concern himself with this and instead concentrate on preserving his party's status.
“Whenever Nishant decides to enter politics, he will do so. Tejashwi Yadav has no reason to be anxious about this; he ought to focus on safeguarding his party,” stated Minister Choudhary.
He dismissed Tejashwi's assertion that the latest cabinet expansion would mark the end of CM Nitish's political journey.
Minister Choudhary expressed confidence that the RJD and the entire INDIA coalition will secure no more than 20 to 25 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He also accused Tejashwi of making such declarations out of fear that the “RJD could disintegrate before the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections”.
Tejashwi has continuously targeted JD(U), recently insisting that Nishant should step into the political arena.
His statements have sparked a political discourse, with JD(U) leaders dismissing them as mere electoral strategies.
As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, the rivalry between RJD and the JD(U)-BJP alliance is heating up, setting the scene for a contentious electoral contest.
The political atmosphere in Bihar is rife with speculation regarding Chief Minister Nitish's son, Nishant, potentially entering state politics.
While Nishant has largely refrained from commenting publicly, his recent statement that the people of Bihar will determine everything has ignited further dialogue.
Nishant, who keeps a low profile, has not made any official declarations regarding his political ambitions.
Nonetheless, his recent comments imply he is not dismissing a future political role.
With Nitish Kumar's extensive political career and the impending Bihar elections, Nishant's possible political entry could transform the future of JD(U) and introduce a new element to the state's political landscape, as indicated by party sources.
Earlier on Thursday, JD(U) MLA Gopal Mandal asserted that if Nishant did not join the party, it would face collapse after Nitish Kumar's departure.
