Patna, April 26 (NationPress) The Minister for the Bihar Rural Works Department and Janata Dal-United member, Ashok Choudhary, announced on Saturday his intention to initiate a defamation lawsuit against Prashant Kishor, the Chief of the Jan Suraaj Party, due to allegations made during Kishor's ongoing Jansuraj Udghosh Yatra.

Choudhary expressed strong disapproval of Kishor's accusation that he had supposedly purchased a ticket to facilitate his daughter's election as an MP.

"We are in the process of preparing to file a defamation suit against Prashant Kishor regarding this claim," Choudhary stated.

He asserted that he hails from a Dalit family and is committed to seeking justice through the legal system.

"We cannot engage in battles with swords. We will utilize the resources available to us as common citizens. We believe we will achieve justice," he added.

Choudhary's action indicates a new legal struggle amidst escalating political tensions as Kishor continues his campaign throughout Bihar.

Kishor launched a vigorous critique of Bihar Minister Choudhary during a public speech in Jamui on Friday, igniting a significant political uproar.

In a pointed remark, Kishor declared: "It is well-known what his political character is. He bought a ticket for his daughter and secured her position as an MP. No leader or party in Bihar has the courage to accuse us of accepting even a single rupee."

The Chief of the Jan Suraaj Party also defended the origins of his campaign financing, claiming: "We are neither MLAs nor MPs, nor do we have ties to the sand mafia or liquor mafia. The funds we possess have been earned through our intellect and hard work. We are using our resources for the impoverished people of Bihar, ensuring they are not excluded from politics due to financial constraints."

Kishor's comments followed Choudhary's previous inquiries concerning the financial backing of the former's Jan Suraj initiative.

It is worth noting that Ashok Choudhary's daughter, Shambhavi Choudhary, successfully contested and secured victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Samastipur (reserved) seat as a candidate of the LJP (Ram Vilas) faction.

The escalating political friction between Kishor and Choudhary highlights the intensifying divisions in Bihar's dynamic pre-election landscape.
