Patna, Sep 23 (NationPress) The escalating feud between Bihar Rural Work Minister Ashok Choudhary and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has taken a serious turn, with the BJP leader formally serving a defamation notice amounting to Rs 100 crore to the political strategist turned politician.
The minister has demanded an unconditional written and public apology within a week; otherwise, he has warned of initiating both criminal proceedings and a civil lawsuit for damages.
In a forceful statement, Choudhary labeled Kishor's claims regarding significant property misconduct as unfounded, misleading, and driven by political motives.
He expressed, "The false and groundless statements made by Prashant Kishor have profoundly affected me and my family. Such despicable politics targeting families is utterly unacceptable. Prashant Kishor must issue a public apology for this."
On September 19, Kishor convened a press conference accusing Choudhary of acquiring 23 katthas of land in Bikram, Patna, in 2021 via his personal assistant, Yogendra Dutt, later transferring it to his daughter, Shambhavi Choudhary, who is also a Member of Parliament from Samastipur.
Kishor further alleged that the land was purchased for Rs 200 crore through the Manas Vaibhav Vikas Trust, suggesting dubious financial dealings between Choudhary's wife, Nita Keskar Choudhary, and his sister-in-law, Anita Kunal, who is married to the late retired IPS officer Acharya Kishor Kunal.
The minister dismissed these allegations as blatant falsehoods, clarifying that the disputed property was legally acquired by Shambhavi Choudhary on February 21, 2021, using her own funds, with all details transparently included in her election affidavit.
"The issue of benami property does not arise. All claims about banking transactions involving my family are entirely false and misleading," asserted Choudhary.
He added that he has no ties to any trust mentioned by Kishor, accusing the Jan Suraaj chief of trying to mislead the public out of political despair.
"Prashant Kishor lacks political integrity and a vision for public service. His entire political foundation rests on lies and deception," declared the minister.
Choudhary revealed that he had previously filed a defamation case earlier this year, which led the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patna to issue a summons to Kishor to appear in Complaint Case No. 6989/2025 on October 17, 2025.
