Patna, April 12 (NationPress) With the announcement of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections imminent, political parties are ramping up efforts to strengthen their foothold in the state.
The Congress has enlisted the dynamic leader Kanhaiya Kumar, while the BJP, a crucial member of the NDA, has summoned Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to enhance its campaign efforts in the region.
Chouhan's visit to Bihar this Saturday marks his third trip this year, signaling the BJP’s commitment to delve deeper into the politically vital North Bihar area.
As per sources, he is set to conduct closed-door strategy sessions with MPs and MLAs from 10 Lok Sabha constituencies, aligning tactics for the forthcoming electoral battles.
In addition to political dialogues, Chouhan will engage in a significant public event at Dwarka College, centered around the theme ‘One Nation, One Election’ — a concept that the BJP is fervently advocating across the nation.
In remarks to IANS, Kuntal Krishnan, Bihar BJP’s state co-convener, stated: “This represents a meaningful outreach. The objective is to cultivate consensus and awareness regarding ‘One Nation, One Election’. A substantial turnout of students, intellectuals, and party members is anticipated at the event. Shivraj Singh Chouhan will also seize this opportunity to invigorate the party base in North Bihar.”
Currently, as the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, as well as Rural Development, Chouhan’s political influence and grassroots connections make him an invaluable asset for BJP’s campaign in Bihar.
Beginning his political journey in the 1990s as the convener of All India Kesaria Vahini, Chouhan ascended through the BJP hierarchy, securing multiple terms as both MLA and MP from Budhni, Madhya Pradesh.
He first took office as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in 2005 and served four terms until 2023, when Mohan Yadav succeeded him following the BJP's victory in the Assembly elections.
