Shivraj Singh Chouhan Celebrates His Birthday with New Initiatives in Vidisha
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 5 (NationPress) On his 67th birthday, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan unveiled several welfare programs aimed at the residents of his Lok Sabha constituency, Vidisha, in Madhya Pradesh.
During a media briefing at his home in Bhopal, Chouhan introduced the ‘Mama Coaching Centre’, which is designed to support students from underprivileged backgrounds in their preparation for competitive exams. This initiative reflects Chouhan’s widespread recognition as “Mama” among the people of Madhya Pradesh.
The coaching centers, slated to open in Vidisha, Raisen, and Bhairaunda, will offer high-quality coaching completely free of charge.
“Financial constraints should never hinder a child’s aspirations. We are launching exceptional free coaching services to ensure that even children from economically disadvantaged families can prepare for competitive examinations and pursue careers as officers,” he stated.
Additionally, Chouhan announced the forthcoming introduction of mobile hospitals, which aim to deliver healthcare services to the remote areas of Vidisha. These mobile units will visit villages across all eight Assembly segments, ensuring that the underprivileged and impoverished residents receive medical care right at their doorsteps.
Chouhan highlighted the initiative's goal of resolving the issue of inadequate healthcare access in rural and isolated areas where residents often travel long distances, even to Bhopal, for minor medical treatments.
“I have observed that many remote regions lack easy access to medical facilities. Even for minor health issues, individuals are compelled to travel to urban centers. Hence, we plan to deploy eight mobile clinics—one for each Assembly constituency—equipped with medicines and essential diagnostic tools like ECG and blood testing, alongside a medical professional and a compounder,” he elaborated.
The mobile medical units will be stationed at specific locations so that residents from five to ten nearby villages can visit them for health check-ups. Patients will receive immediate treatment and medications, while cases needing advanced care will be referred to suitable hospitals.
Earlier in the day, Chouhan marked his birthday by planting trees with his family at Smart City Park in Bhopal.
In his remarks, he stressed the significance of environmental protection and community responsibility.
“Every moment of our lives should be dedicated not just to ourselves but also to our community and the environment. Planting trees is the highest service to nature. I urge everyone to plant trees—this would be the most meaningful gift for me,” he concluded.
