New Delhi, May 24 (NationPress) Members of the CISF are set to receive an enhanced personal accident insurance coverage of up to Rs 1 crore, as part of a range of new benefits rolled out by the Force following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the State Bank of India (SBI) for the management of salary accounts, an official confirmed on Saturday.

This MoU, established between the State Bank of India and the CISF for both active and retired personnel under the Central Armed Police Salary Package (CAPSP), was formalized during a ceremony held at the CISF Headquarters, the official noted.

The agreement brings forth a variety of enhanced financial benefits aimed at improving the welfare and financial security of CISF members, marking a significant achievement in the Force's ongoing commitment. These benefits are provided at no cost to the personnel, as stated in the announcement.

The MoU was signed for a period of three years until May 22 by Rekha Nambiar, DIG/Adm, CISF, and Ranjana Sinha, General Manager (NRI & SP), SBI Corporate Centre, Mumbai, representing the bank.

Under the new provisions of the MoU, the existing personal accident insurance (PAI) for active CISF personnel has been boosted from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore. For pensioners, the PAI has increased from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

The coverage for air accident cases has also been augmented for active personnel, rising from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.5 crore. Furthermore, a new term insurance policy of Rs 10 lakh has been introduced for serving personnel.

The insurance coverage for active personnel in cases of permanent total and partial disability has been raised to Rs 1 crore each.

According to the CISF public relations officer, additional benefits applicable in the event of accidental death include coverage for plastic surgery in burn cases, costs for children’s higher education (for graduation), a girl child marriage cover, air ambulance expenses up to Rs 10 lakh, and ambulance charges capped at Rs 50,000.
