Bhubaneswar, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, remarked on Wednesday that the state is progressing towards its ambition of becoming one of the nation’s top five economies, fueled by the tremendous success of the two-day Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha conclave-2025.
"The Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha conclave-2025 has proven to be a significant triumph," he stated. This flagship business summit, organized by the Odisha government on January 28 and 29, witnessed participation from numerous industrial leaders, global delegates, and policymakers.
During a press conference, the Chief Minister announced, “A total of 145 Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) have been finalized throughout the conclave. These MoUs are set to revolutionize the industrial landscape of Odisha and usher in a new chapter of collaboration with premier global industrial entities.”
The signing of these agreements is anticipated to attract investments amounting to Rs 12.89 Lakh crore across 16 different sectors, including chemicals and petrochemicals, textiles, mining and metallurgy, renewable energy, IT/ITeS, tourism, and food processing.
“These investments are expected to create over 8.94 lakh job opportunities, leading to substantial socio-economic advancement and fostering inclusive growth within the state,” the Chief Minister further elaborated.
He also mentioned that the state government has received 448 Investment Intents in the prescribed formats, with a total investment worth Rs 3.84 Lakh crores, which has the potential to create 3.92 lakh jobs.
Furthermore, the state has recorded 593 projects with investments totaling Rs 16.73 lakh crores and a job creation potential of 12.88 lakhs across more than 20 sectors in all 30 districts of Odisha.
Majhi pointed out that the conclave drew delegates from over 16 countries, including representatives from the Partner Countries – Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia – which further bolsters Odisha’s status as a global investment hub.
“We are dedicated to realizing the vision of Samrudh Odisha 2036 and contributing to Viksit Bharat 2047,” he stated.
On behalf of the people of Odisha, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his steadfast support during the grand business summit, which he inaugurated personally on January 28.
“The Prime Minister was present and offered his guarantee (Modi Ki Guarantee) for investments in Odisha. He has provided unwavering support in our mission for a Samurddh Odisha by 2036 and a growth engine for Viksit Bharat by 2047. In a double-engine government, he has fulfilled his expected role. This has brought us closer to our objective of becoming one of the top five economies in the country,” he stated.
Notably, the second day of the event included essential sectoral discussions on Textiles and Apparel, Renewable Energy, Skilled in Odisha, Women Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Circular Economy, Agro- and Food Processing, Healthcare, Pharma & Biotech, and Industrial Infrastructure, driving actionable strategies for investment and growth.
