A life of quiet, decades-long devotion to organisational work came to an end with the passing of M. A. Krishnan, a senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak who spent his years expanding the Sangh's footprint across Kerala. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her condolences on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, calling his death deeply sorrowful news.

In her post, CM Gupta wrote: 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ke varishtha pracharak Shri M. A. Krishnan ji ke nidhan ka samachar atyant dukhad hai' — 'The news of the passing of senior RSS pracharak Shri M. A. Krishnan is extremely sorrowful.' She described his life as 'an inspiring journey of dedication, sacrifice, and austerity' in service of the nation and the organisation.

Decades of grassroots work in Kerala

Krishnan's most enduring contribution was his sustained effort to broaden RSS activities in Kerala — a state where the organisation has historically worked against significant organised opposition. Over several decades, he worked at the grassroots level to carry what CM Gupta called 'rashtranishtha vichar' — nationalist ideas — to ordinary people across the state. His work made him a formative figure for generations of RSS workers in the region.

CM Gupta noted that 'his dedication to the organisation will continue to inspire countless workers.' The tribute underscores how deeply the Sangh's field-level pracharaks are regarded within the broader ecosystem of the BJP and affiliated organisations — figures who rarely seek public attention but whose organisational labour shapes the movement from within.
