Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, launched the 'Takniki Rozgar Setu' portal, a first-of-its-kind digital platform developed by the state's Technical Education Department to connect students, technical institutions, and employers through a unified system for streamlined placements and recruitment.

Announcing the launch on X, CM Sukhu described the portal as a platform that will make the placement and recruitment process in Himachal Pradesh 'more simple, transparent, and effective' (अधिक सरल, पारदर्शी और प्रभावी) by integrating students, technical education institutions, and employers into a single system. The initiative is positioned as the first such dedicated digital bridge for technical education placements in the state.

Present at the launch were Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, and other senior officials, signalling the government's cross-departmental commitment to the platform.

The portal aligns with the national Skill India Mission, launched in 2015, which aimed to improve youth employability through vocational training and stronger industry linkages. According to the post, the portal has already recorded significant early uptake: 164 institutions are registered, comprising 136 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), 18 polytechnic institutes, 5 engineering colleges, and 5 pharmacy colleges. Through Him Access integration, 26,168 students have been registered, of whom 23,054 have completed skill mapping. 97 employers are also registered on the platform.
