Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Monday, 29 June 2026 that development projects worth a combined ₹934 crore would be inaugurated and foundation-laid across Pilibhit and Moradabad districts, bringing new momentum to the state government's agenda of development, good governance, and public welfare.

In his post, CM Yogi stated: 'Pilibhit aur Moradabad mein aaj vikas, sushasan aur jankalyan ke sankalp ko nayi gati prapt hogi' ('Today in Pilibhit and Moradabad, the resolve for development, good governance, and public welfare will receive new momentum'). The announcement covers two separate tranches of infrastructure activity across multiple assembly constituencies.

In Pilibhit, 66 development projects worth more than ₹569 crore will be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid across the Barkhera and Bisalpur assembly segments. In Moradabad, 63 projects worth more than ₹365 crore will be taken up across the Moradabad Nagar, Moradabad Dehat, and Kundarki assembly segments, in addition to works under the Moradabad Municipal Corporation and the Moradabad Development Authority.

Pilibhit is a district in the Rohilkhand region of western Uttar Pradesh, bordering Nepal, and has historically been associated with forest cover, agriculture, and the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. Moradabad, known as the 'Brass City' of India for its metal handicrafts export industry, is one of the more populous urban centres of western UP and falls under the Moradabad division.

The simultaneous rollout of projects across multiple assembly constituencies — including urban local body and development authority schemes — reflects the Yogi government's practice of bundling infrastructure announcements into high-visibility district-level events. CM Yogi's post notes that trader community members (vyapari bandhu) will be felicitated on this occasion, underscoring the government's outreach to the business community in the region.

Moradabad's status as a major export hub for brass and metal goods makes the traders' welfare dimension particularly relevant for the city, where the small and medium enterprise ecosystem is a significant source of employment and foreign exchange earnings.
