Jaipur, March 13 (NationPress) The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) will see a decrease of Rs 2.12 in Rajasthan, effective from 12 a.m. on Friday, as confirmed by officials.
T. Ravikant, Chairman of Rajasthan State Gas Limited, stated: "With the newly revised VAT rate, VAT on CNG and PNG will be set at 7.5 percent instead of 10 percent."
Ranveer Singh, Managing Director of Rajasthan State Gas Limited, mentioned: "Due to a 2.5 percent decrease in VAT, the public will now pay Rs 91.09 per kg for CNG at the stations operated by Rajasthan State Gas Ltd., down from Rs 93.21 per kg."
In a similar vein, PNG will be priced at Rs 49.35, a reduction from Rs 50.5.
For commercial usage, PNG will now be available at Rs 64.50, a relief of Rs 1.50, while for the industrial sector, PNG will be priced at Rs 60.59, offering a relief of Rs 1.41.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma made the announcement regarding VAT reductions on CNG and PNG during the Assembly meeting on Wednesday.
In a groundbreaking announcement aimed at introducing the Poverty-Free Village Scheme to assist families below the poverty line (BPL) in Rajasthan, CM Sharma also stated that 26,000 government positions will be filled in the upcoming financial year.
This includes roles for teachers, police personnel, forest staff, and various other government positions.
Alongside these announcements, the Assembly has endorsed the Budget presented on February 19.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government will initiate the Poverty-Free Village Scheme to support BPL families.
"In the initial phase, Rs 350 crore will be allocated to assist 5,000 villages in escaping poverty. Additionally, educated unemployed youth will have the chance to receive Rs 6,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Internship Yojana instead of an unemployment allowance," he remarked.
CM Sharma also noted that next year, 10,000 school teachers, along with 4,000 Patwaris and 1,750 Forest Department employees, will be recruited.
Moreover, 10,000 positions will be filled in the police force, he added.
The Chief Minister also revealed the launch of the Chief Minister Youth Employment Promotion Scheme, under which unemployed youth will receive a one-time financial aid of Rs 10,000.
He also announced the establishment of a high-level committee to investigate significant urban development projects completed during the term of Congress leader Shanti Dhariwal as the Urban Development Minister, including the Kota Riverfront project.
