Commitment to Preserve Bihar’s Cultural Heritage: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan

Patna, Dec 30 (NationPress) The newly appointed Governor of Bihar, Arif Mohammad Khan, expressed admiration for the state's rich heritage and culture, committing to honor its legacy during his time in office.

“Bihar boasts a remarkable history, and I will work diligently to preserve its traditions, culture, and heritage as the Governor,” Khan remarked.

Khan arrived in Patna on Monday afternoon, receiving a warm welcome from Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, along with notable leaders Vijay Kumar Sinha, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Awadh Narayan Chaudhary, Sunil Kumar, Neeraj Kumar, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, and other esteemed figures from the Bihar government.

Upon his arrival at Patna airport, he was given a guard of honour, followed by an elaborate reception at Raj Bhawan Patna.

Khan takes over from Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar, who has been reassigned as the Governor of Kerala.

Arlekar served as Bihar's Governor for one year and 322 days. During his period in office, the NDA government was formed in Bihar in January, and Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister, followed by a cabinet expansion.

Several significant decisions were made during his tenure regarding various universities, particularly focusing on maintaining regular academic sessions.

On December 24, the central government announced transfers for Governors in several states, including Bihar.

Arif Mohammad Khan, previously the Governor of Kerala, has now been appointed as Bihar's new Governor, while Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar has moved to Kerala.

In other appointments, former Army Chief VK Singh was designated as the Governor of Mizoram, and Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati was named Governor of Odisha. Additionally, Ajay Kumar Bhalla was appointed as Governor of Manipur.

President Droupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Raghubar Das as the Governor of Odisha.
