Condolences Pour In for Elangovan from TN Leaders Including CM Stalin and Guv Ravi

Chennai, Dec 14 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, along with Governor R.N. Ravi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and various other political figures, have expressed their sorrow regarding the death of esteemed Congress leader and former Union Minister, EVKS Elangovan, who was also the sitting MLA for Erode (East).
Elangovan had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chennai for approximately one month before he passed away on Saturday.
In a heartfelt statement, Governor Ravi remarked, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of Thiru EVKS Elangovan, a dedicated Member of the Legislative Assembly from Erode (East). His contributions to society and the welfare of the people will always be cherished. My sincere condolences to his grieving family and followers. Om Shanti!”
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin conveyed his sympathies on the social media platform X, stating, “I am profoundly saddened by the passing of Mr. EVKS Elangovan, a senior leader of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee and Member of the Erode East Legislative Assembly. My deepest sympathies go to his family, fellow Congress members, and the residents of Erode East constituency who mourn his loss.”
Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, also shared his sorrow.
In his message on X, he expressed, “I am saddened by the loss of Thiru EVKS Elangovan, former Union Minister and previous TNCC President. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. A courageous and principled leader, he was a devoted advocate for the values of the Congress Party and the ideals of Thanthai Periyar. His unwavering service to Tamil Nadu will always inspire us.”
KC Venugopal, AICC General Secretary (Organisation), paid tribute on X, stating, “I extend my deepest condolences to the family and supporters of former TNCC President Thiru EVKS Elangovan on his untimely passing. He was a committed Congressman who dedicated decades to public service and the party. This is a tremendous loss for our party, as we have lost a senior leader whose dedication and experience guided us for many years.”
Film superstar and founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay, also expressed his sadness in a condolence tweet: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of EVKS Elangovan, a member of Thanthai Periyar’s family, former President of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, senior leader of the Congress Party, former Union Minister of State for Textiles, and current Erode East MLA.
“I offer my deepest condolences to his grieving family and the Congress party. I pray that the soul of EVKS Elangovan may find eternal peace.”
Senior BJP leader and Tamil Nadu in-charge Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy commented, “I mourn the passing of EVKS Elangovan, a stalwart in Tamil Nadu politics. His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our state’s political arena. Elangovan’s brave and relentless efforts to champion the people’s welfare will never be forgotten.
“His legacy stands as a brilliant example of leadership and commitment. On behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Elangovan’s family. May they find the strength to endure this profound loss. May his soul rest in peace and may his memory continue to inspire us towards a brighter future.”
Additionally, MDMK leader Vaiko, along with PMK leaders S. Ramadoss and Anbumani Ramadoss, also shared their condolences.
