Does Congress Have the Moral Authority to Discuss Corruption?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Dec 15 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma delivered a fierce critique of the Congress on Monday, labeling its members as “looters” and accusing the party of embedding corruption in its operations.
“What can those looters, who excel in corruption, possibly convey to us?” the Chief Minister remarked while contrasting the BJP government's two-year record against the Congress’s five-year period.
He made these comments during a state-level health camp event at the RUHS Hospital complex in Pratapnagar, commemorating the two-year milestone of the BJP government.
Sharma asserted that a party rooted in corruption lacks any moral credibility to comment.
“Some individuals merely speak. Some have nothing substantial to say, while others resort to tweeting,” he added, taking a jab at Congress leaders.
Without explicitly naming anyone, the Chief Minister critiqued the former Congress administration, claiming that the BJP government has accomplished in two years what the Congress could not in five.
Addressing concerns about youth and employment, CM Sharma noted that the prospects of young individuals were compromised under the Congress regime due to frequent paper leaks, whereas not a single examination paper has been compromised during the BJP government.
“Young people are now receiving transparent recruitment and job opportunities, and more hiring is on the horizon,” he stated.
Touching on alleged misconduct during the Congress rule, the Chief Minister claimed that widespread corruption in public schemes forced ordinary citizens to bear the consequences.
Referring to the RGHS scheme, he alleged that private hospitals were allowed to exploit during the previous administration.
“Our government has taken stringent measures against errant hospitals and doctors, and there will be no leniency in the future, regardless of the individual's influence,” CM Sharma emphasized.
Sharma noted that Congress leaders appear uneasy whenever corruption is brought up.
“Step forward. Who is preventing you? We are prepared both inside and outside the Assembly,” he remarked. “You have plundered this state and nation for 70 years. Now, those looters wish to lecture us?” he concluded.
