Congress Organizes Demonstration in Lucknow Against Yogi Government as UP Assembly Session Commences

New Delhi, Dec 18 (NationPress) The Congress party has organized a substantial demonstration on Wednesday, intending to encircle the Uttar Pradesh Assembly in Lucknow. Party members from various districts have already arrived in the city to take part.
In response to the upcoming protest, Uttar Pradesh Police have heightened security protocols. Notices have been served to more than two dozen senior Congress figures, including state President Ajay Rai, outgoing General Secretary (organisation) Anil Yadav, and Dinesh Singh.
The Congress leaders and supporters are gearing up to take to the streets, indicating a considerable rise in the state's political engagement.
This protest targets the policies of the Yogi Adityanath-led government, with the Congress party highlighting concerns such as unemployment, inflation, communal politics, electricity shortages, healthcare, education, and the Sambhal violence.
A significant police presence has been established throughout Lucknow, with additional precautions taken at sensitive areas to ensure public order. Security forces are closely monitoring the situation to avert any incidents.
Traffic disruptions may occur in the city, and residents are urged to adhere to updated guidelines.
This demonstration coincides with the Winter Session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which is taking place from December 17 to 20.
On Tuesday, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna introduced the second supplementary budget of Rs 17,865.72 crore, which represents 2.42 percent of the original Rs 7,36,437.71 crore budget. Significant allocations were made for agriculture and industry, with Rs 790.49 crore designated for new initiatives.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present during the session.
The Assembly session is anticipated to tackle various pressing issues affecting the state, including the Sambhal violence, anti-encroachment drives, preparations for the Maha Kumbh, and the Jhansi hospital fire incident that resulted in the tragic loss of many newborns.
