Jabalpur, May 31 (NationPress) Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed on Saturday that the Congress is not challenging Operation Sindoor, but is seeking clarity regarding the government's decisions and the level of transparency related to this anti-terror initiative. He questioned the whereabouts of the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack on April 22.
He pointed out that the BJP-led government must address critical queries, such as the location of the four terrorists who were implicated in the deaths of 26 individuals in Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
Baghel also inquired about the rationale behind the BJP government’s acceptance of the ceasefire negotiated by US President Donald Trump.
He reminisced how Indira Gandhi stood firm against then-US President Richard Nixon in 1971, refusing to withdraw even after he dispatched the Seventh Fleet to the Bay of Bengal.
“Indira Gandhi fragmented Pakistan into two parts,” said Baghel during the 'Jai Hindi Sabha' held in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
The gathering witnessed the presence of senior Congress figures including former Chief Ministers Digvijaya Singh and Kamal Nath.
“The Indian armed forces are the pride of the nation, not tied to any political entity. There’s no debate regarding our soldiers or Operation Sindoor against terrorist camps based in Pakistan. Yet, we demand to know where the four terrorists from the Pahalgam attack are,” Baghel stated.
During the event, Congress leaders paid homage to the Indian soldiers who gave their lives for the country, laying flowers at Shaurya Smarak in Jabalpur.
This event is part of Congress' nationwide initiative, 'Jai Hind Sabhas', aimed at honoring the valor exhibited by the armed forces during Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam attack.
The opposition's program is viewed as a counter to the BJP's recent Tiranga Yatras that celebrate the armed forces' bravery and the success of Operation Sindoor.
