Varanasi, Jan 22 (NationPress) As the BJP introduced its latest campaign anthem for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, which references the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to resonate with voters, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai condemned the initiative and accused the party of colluding with the AAP.
The BJP's song, "Jo Ram ko lekar aaye, unka raaj hoga Delhi mein (Those who have brought Ram will rule Delhi!)", aims to tackle crucial issues affecting the residents of Delhi, such as pollution, drinking water shortages, sewage problems, and overflowing landfills.
In a statement to IANS, Rai criticized the BJP, remarking, "You label yourselves as honest while branding others as thieves. This reflects the mindset of the BJP. It's a case of 'Chor Chor Mausere Bhai.' They have devastated Delhi. There has been no growth, no progress, and the air quality is hazardous. The BJP should release the 'Chor Chor Mausere Bhai' anthem, as it applies to them as well."
Rai also addressed accusations against Congress Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who has been charged with courting Muslim voters during election rallies.
Rai dismissed such allegations, asserting, "Dalits are wholeheartedly supporting the Congress party. Rahul Gandhi is not focusing on any particular group; he is connecting with all segments of society. He is standing alongside the oppressed and marginalized."
Responding to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s comments regarding illegal migration, Rai remarked, “You are in power, and you're criticizing your own administration? If this is a concern, then the government must take measures. As Vice President, he should guide the government, yet the current leadership has failed to respond.”
Rai also commented on a complaint made by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, alleging that BJP activists have threatened AAP members.
He stated, "The BJP and AAP are in collusion. When Kejriwal campaigned in Varanasi, BJP and Kejriwal were rivals. Now, they act as if they are in conflict, but in truth, they are cooperating. Congress is set to triumph in the Delhi Assembly elections."
With the Delhi Assembly elections approaching, the three primary political contenders in the capital have committed to extensive welfare initiatives to entice voters.
The AAP, Congress, and BJP are all striving to appeal to women voters, a demographic that has garnered significant focus from political parties in recent national elections.
