This feedback was shared during a meeting with senior BSF officials on Wednesday.
The BSF Additional Director General (ADG), Eastern Command, Ravi Gandhi, engaged in discussions with residents from Bhagalpur, Narsingharh, Bamutia, and Kalkalia villages as part of his three-day visit to Tripura.
Residents expressed gratitude for the BSF's steadfast dedication to ensuring border security and enhancing community welfare.
A significant number of community members highlighted the sharp decline in crime rates, a result of the BSF’s proactive measures, and commended the force’s responsiveness to pressing issues such as connectivity, border area lighting, and management of border gates, which have greatly improved their living conditions.
Gandhi attentively listened to the residents’ feedback and assured them of the BSF’s ongoing support in resolving crucial concerns.
The ADG further pledged that the BSF would remain committed to assisting them and would liaise with relevant authorities to effectively tackle their issues.
Understanding the necessity for essential services, the senior BSF representative assured that the paramilitary force would arrange educational and medical camps to ensure that healthcare and learning opportunities reach the grassroots level.
Moreover, the ADG encouraged local youth to explore careers within the BSF and announced specialized training programs and skill development camps to aid them in preparation for recruitment.
A BSF spokesperson stated that the interaction reinforced the BSF’s commitment to building strong relationships with border communities and recognizing them as vital partners in the development of isolated border regions.
On Tuesday, the ADG visited the Border Outpost (BOP) in Khantalang and BOP Pushparampara, the first all-women Prahari post in Tripura.
The spokesperson mentioned that during his visit, the ADG assessed the operational readiness of the outposts and interacted with the Mahila Praharis, including the Post Commander, Sanju Ghasal, who holds the rank of Sub-Inspector.
He praised the female personnel for their commitment, professionalism, and resilience in conducting security operations in one of the most challenging terrains along the India-Bangladesh border.
