New Delhi April 8 (NationPress) Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), expressed admiration for UAE-India relations following his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
The Crown Prince arrived in India earlier that day for a two-day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi.
"It was a pleasure meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in New Delhi. Our discussions reaffirmed the strength of UAE–India ties, which are founded on trust, influenced by history, and fueled by a mutual vision for a future brimming with opportunity, innovation, and enduring prosperity," he shared on X after the meeting.
This visit marks Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum's inaugural official trip to India in his capacity as Crown Prince of Dubai, accompanied by a team of ministers, senior officials, and a high-profile business delegation.
Prime Minister Modi hosted a working lunch for the visiting dignitary, and the Crown Prince also engaged with External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
"Thrilled to welcome Crown Prince of Dubai and DPM & Minister of Defence of UAE HH Hamdan Mohammed at the start of his first official visit to India. I appreciate his positive outlook on our extensive cooperation and dynamic ties," remarked EAM Jaishankar.
Following his time in Delhi, the Crown Prince plans to travel to Mumbai, where he will participate in a business roundtable with leading business figures from both nations. This engagement aims to enhance India-UAE economic and commercial collaboration across both traditional and innovative sectors.
"Historically, Dubai has been a vital hub for India's commercial, cultural, and interpersonal exchanges with the UAE. A significant portion of India's approximately 4.3 million diaspora in the UAE lives and works in Dubai. The visit of His Highness the Crown Prince will further strengthen the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and deepen our multifaceted relations with Dubai," stated a release from the MEA.
