In the early bulletin released by the IMD on Friday morning, it was stated that the cyclone located over the coastal areas of Sri Lanka and the adjacent southwestern part of the Bay of Bengal has been moving in a north-northwest direction. As of 0230 hrs IST, it was approximately 460 km south-southeast of Puducherry and 560 km south-southeast of Chennai.
The cyclone is likely to continue its trajectory moving north-northwestward, crossing the Sri Lankan coast and approaching the southwestern Bay of Bengal near the coasts of North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and adjacent southern Andhra Pradesh by early morning on November 30, according to the IMD.
Light to moderate rainfall is anticipated across numerous locations, with heavy downpours expected in isolated areas within southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
