New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) – In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police apprehended two notorious individuals linked to the infamous Thak-Thak Gang on Friday. These individuals are alleged to have played a role in over 15 incidents of robbery, snatching, theft, and cheating, as well as violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

As per the statement released by the South-West District Police, a dedicated team from the R.K. Puram Police Station successfully caught the suspects, identified as Sanju alias Sanju Madrasi (26) and Gaurav alias Rinku (26). Both are residents of Madangir, falling under the jurisdiction of the Ambedkar Nagar police station.

During the operation, the police recovered a stolen bag containing an HP laptop along with its accessories, a PAN card, Aadhaar card, various debit and credit cards, and other valuables belonging to the victim. Additionally, a TVS NTorq scooter, allegedly utilized in the commission of the crime, was also seized.

The situation escalated on November 21 when the complainant was commuting from her workplace in Okhla to Dwarka. While she was driving along the Ring Road near the Hyatt Hotel, two men on a scooter signaled her, indicating a problem with her vehicle. She pulled over near the Sector-12 bus stand to investigate. At that moment, one of the suspects rapidly opened her vehicle door, snatched her bag, and fled with his accomplice.

Following her report, a First Information Report (FIR No. 80110636) was lodged under Section 303 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the R.K. Puram Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation.

In light of the seriousness of the incident, a specialized team led by Inspector Ravinder Kumar Tyagi (SHO, R.K. Puram) was assembled. This team included SI Satyender Gulia, along with Head Constables Sampat Ram, Kuldeep, Ram Phool, Inderpal, and Constables Sandeep and Sudesh, all under the vigilant supervision of ACP Babbar Bhan (Vasant Vihar Sub-Division).

After scrutinizing the modus operandi and utilizing local intelligence resources, the police arrested Gaurav alias Rinku on November 23, followed by the arrest of Sanju alias Madrasi on November 24. The interrogations led to the recovery of the stolen items and the vehicle involved in the crime.

Authorities noted that the gang employs a diversion tactic, falsely alerting drivers about non-existent issues—such as a flat tire—to distract them. Once the driver exits the vehicle, the perpetrators swiftly seize valuables from inside and make their escape.

Further investigations revealed that Sanju, originally from Tamil Nadu but raised in Delhi, is married and completed up to Class 8. He reportedly embraced a life of crime in 2018 due to substance abuse and has 12 prior cases against him. In 2018, he became involved with local criminals and began abusing alcohol and drugs. To fuel his destructive habits, he turned to crime.

Gaurav, also married and educated up to Class 10, similarly entered the criminal realm in 2018 under like circumstances. He has been implicated in three prior cases of snatching and violations of the NDPS Act at PS Ambedkar Nagar, Delhi.

Police officials confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing.
