Bengaluru, March 18 (NationPress) A Congress women Dalit activist has lodged a police complaint against H.M. Revanna, a close aide of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of assault and making threats to her life. Revanna serves as the president of the Karnataka State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee.
The complaint was registered on Tuesday at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru by Nandini Nagaraj, a Congress member.
Nandini has also provided video evidence to the police, showing Revanna pushing her away.
In the video, Nandini can be heard telling Revanna that she intends to inform Rahul Gandhi about the incident and send him the video. Revanna responds by asking her to exit the location.
This incident is set to stir controversy during the ongoing Assembly session, particularly since it involves Revanna, a close confidant of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Addressing the allegations, former Minister Revanna asserted that Nandini Nagaraj often invokes Rahul Gandhi's name to create disturbances. He accused her of threatening an officer he knows and even claimed that she had taken ₹1 lakh from him via PhonePe. 'I had asked her to cease such activities,' he remarked.
“She cannot accept this and is now falsely claiming that I misbehaved with a woman worker and used inappropriate language. She even states that she fears for her life because of me. What would I gain by causing harm to her? Throughout my 40-year political career, I have never engaged in such behavior,” Revanna emphasized.
He acknowledged pushing her while she was recording the video. “If I have committed any wrongdoing, let the party take action against me. She is misusing Rahul Gandhi's name and has been involved in financial transactions related to transfers. I will be lodging a complaint with the AICC regarding this matter. I am deeply troubled by this situation,” he articulated.
The police have initiated an investigation into the case.
