Deceptive Claims: Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha Criticizes Kejriwal Over Mahila Samman Yojana

New Delhi, Dec 26 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha conducted a peaceful demonstration in front of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's home on Thursday to protest against the newly introduced 'Mahila Samman Yojana,' insisting on strict repercussions for him over allegations of misleading women with deceptive promises.
The initiative, which claims to offer Rs 2,100 monthly to women if the AAP regains power, has been condemned as deceptive by the BJP, which accuses the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of misleading and taking advantage of women for electoral benefits ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.
Demonstrators from BJP alleged that this scheme was intended to gather personal information from women under the pretense of providing financial support. They referenced similar pledges made by the AAP in Punjab, where the party promised Rs 1,000 monthly to women but failed to deliver once in power.
During the protest, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha president, Richa Pandey stated, “We are here to confront Arvind Kejriwal regarding his commitments. He made similar promises in Punjab but did not fulfill them. This is a deceptive scheme aimed at data collection and misleading women before elections. He seems to view women as fools and is insulting their intelligence. We will also file a police report against this fraudulent act.”
BJP councillor Yogita Singh echoed these sentiments, saying, “This is not the first instance of Arvind Kejriwal deceiving the public. He promised Rs 1,000 to women in Punjab, which was never provided. Now, a similar deceptive scheme has emerged in Delhi. Women have reported unauthorized deductions from their accounts, which is clear fraud. Kejriwal and Delhi CM Atishi must apologize for misleading and insulting women.”
The protesters accused the AAP of utilizing the scheme to garner votes as their power wanes. "If Kejriwal was genuine, why did he not initiate such schemes during his decade-long term? These false promises are merely election gimmicks," Pandey added.
The BJP has committed to pursuing legal action against the alleged deception and is demanding accountability from the AAP, accusing the party of employing misleading tactics to secure votes.
