New Delhi, Jan 25 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP has expressed grave concerns regarding the alleged mismanagement of private information related to the Mahila Samman Yojana, a program initiated by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal aimed at providing Rs 2,100 monthly to women in the national capital.
The party alleged that thousands of registration forms, which include sensitive data such as PAN numbers, Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and bank details, were discovered in a junk shop located in the Timarpur Assembly constituency, right before the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 5.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva claimed that around 30,000 of these forms were recovered from the junk shop in the Timarpur Assembly area.
In a statement to IANS, Sachdeva questioned the AAP's accountability, asserting, "If Arvind Kejriwal is misleading women, he must respond. This constitutes a breach of their privacy. Should this information fall into the wrong hands, who will take responsibility?"
Sachdeva also criticized the AAP for making empty promises, asserting that similar initiatives in Punjab failed to benefit women.
"If someone exploits these forms to access bank accounts, it could lead to severe consequences," he warned.
He accused the AAP government of taking advantage of women's personal data for political purposes.
"Arvind Kejriwal has duped the women of Delhi by gathering their information under the pretense of the Mahila Samman Yojana. Complaints regarding an uptick in digital fraud are increasing," Sachdeva stated.
During a press conference earlier today, Sachdeva mentioned that the junk dealer handed over the documents to the BJP's Timarpur candidate, Surya Prakash Khatri.
The BJP intends to submit the forms to the Delhi Police and file a formal complaint against the AAP.
The Mahila Samman Yojana, launched by the AAP in December 2024 before the election announcement, pledged Rs 2,100 monthly to women if the party secured power.
The BJP's accusations arise at a pivotal moment, with only ten days left until the Delhi Assembly elections. The AAP has not yet responded to the BJP's claims.
