New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) Referring to National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets as the nation's secondary line of defence, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged young individuals to find motivation in their significant contributions towards public awareness during the mock drills conducted nationwide as part of Operation Sindoor.
While addressing the cadets at the NCC Republic Day Camp held in Delhi Cantonment, the Defence Minister stated, "In a world filled with uncertainties, our youth must cultivate physical, mental, and emotional strength to face all challenges that come their way."
Reflecting on Operation Sindoor, Rajnath Singh remarked, "The Indian Armed Forces decisively targeted terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, delivering a powerful response to the cowardly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. Our soldiers acted with both courage and restraint. We focused our efforts on those who harmed us, without causing harm to others. This success was achievable due to their strength in every aspect of life."
The Defence Minister likened the youth to the Abhimanyu of Mahabharata, capable of navigating any 'Chakravyuh' and emerging victorious, while encouraging them to support the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"We are now in an era where the expectations from our youth have escalated. They are the invaluable assets of our nation, tasked with elevating the country to new heights," he stated.
Rajnath Singh highlighted the NCC as a remarkable platform that enhances the youth, who in turn make invaluable contributions to nation-building.
"Today, the world is focused on comfort. Video games, food delivery, and similar conveniences are designed to ease life. Through parades, drills, and camps, the NCC aids in breaking this comfort zone, fostering a mentally resilient cadet. Additionally, participants learn essential life skills that can prove crucial in times of disaster," he explained.
He emphasized that the NCC fosters discipline and patriotism among cadets, while also addressing issues like 'lack of focus'.
According to him, the NCC inculcates qualities such as patience, perseverance, and concentration—crucial for tackling life's major challenges, fulfilling the nation's significant responsibilities, and building character.
This focus, Rajnath Singh concluded, manifests across all aspects of their lives, whether they opt for the Armed Forces, or careers as doctors, engineers, educators, scientists, administrators, or politicians.
