Chennai, Jan 24 (NationPress) Asserting that the political dynamics of Tamil Nadu are on the brink of a pivotal transformation, K.A. Sengottaiyan, the Chief Coordinator of the Executive Committee of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), proclaimed that actor-turned-politician and party leader Vijay stands as the sole figure capable of dismantling the reign of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
While addressing party members and supporters at the TVK headquarters in Chennai's Panaiyur, Sengottaiyan delivered a pointed critique of the ruling DMK and its opponents, emphasizing that a significant shift in public opinion is already taking root throughout the state.
He noted that traditional political narratives in Tamil Nadu are swiftly becoming obsolete.
"Until recently, Vijay was recognized merely as a cinematic hero," Sengottaiyan stated.
"However, in the near future, he will be celebrated as the political hero of Tamil Nadu. Only Vijay possesses the courage, credibility, and widespread support essential to effect change in governance and dismantle the DMK administration."
In a comment that generated considerable buzz, Sengottaiyan suggested that in upcoming times, even police constables might be advised against blowing whistles, hinting at a new political ethos and a symbolic departure from established systems of authority.
Emphasizing TVK chief Vijay's rising popularity beyond Indian borders, Sengottaiyan asserted that nearly three lakh Tamil voters residing overseas have been inquiring about the Tamil Nadu Assembly election dates to plan their return for voting.
"Many are willing to invest between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh solely to return and cast their vote for him," he remarked, describing this trend as unparalleled in the state's electoral history.
Sengottaiyan also ridiculed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), questioning its assertions of public support.
He claimed that while the NDA had projected an attendance of five lakh people for a recent gathering, only around 60,000 seats were set up, with nearly 10,000 remaining unoccupied.
"Of those present, approximately 20,000 were asleep," he quipped.
He further pointed out that when NDA leaders announced from the stage that the DMK government would be overthrown, the declaration failed to garner even a single round of applause.
"While many may assert that they (NDA) can facilitate a regime change," Sengottaiyan concluded, "the ground reality is evident—only Vijay can alter the DMK government in Tamil Nadu."
