Imphal, April 10 (NationPress) During a two-day tour of the unrest-affected state of Manipur, Union Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, conducted a thorough review of the operational and administrative preparedness of the Assam Rifles battalions stationed in the area.

A defence spokesperson reported that while visiting Chassad in the tribal Kamjong district of Manipur, the minister evaluated the security conditions in the area and sought to understand the challenges faced by troops positioned along the sensitive India-Myanmar Border.

Manipur shares a 398 km unfenced border with Myanmar, which is under the vigilant watch of the Assam Rifles as they safeguard this challenging international frontier.

“During his visit, the minister conducted a detailed review of the operational and administrative readiness of the Assam Rifles battalions in the region,” the spokesperson stated.

The minister toured key forward operating bases, where he received briefings on various aspects and border management initiatives.

He also visited the newly established Border Crossing Point (BCP) at Humine Thana along the India-Myanmar Border. This BCP is designed to enhance border regulation, improve cross-border coordination, and fortify security in the area.

While engaging with the officers and soldiers of the Assam Rifles, the Union Minister praised their professionalism, dedication, and high morale under challenging conditions.

Additionally, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organized a blood donation camp on Thursday in Pallel, Kakching district.

The spokesperson mentioned that with enthusiastic participation, 50 locals from various communities alongside troops from the Assam Rifles contributed blood to bolster local healthcare.

This act of collective compassion was described as a powerful testament to the region’s determination to transcend divisions and pursue a path of peace.

During the event, a senior Assam Rifles official remarked: “There can be no greater symbol of reconciliation than this, when all communities unite to give the gift of life.”

He further emphasized that Pallel now stands as a beacon of hope that people can indeed come together.

“The Assam Rifles takes pride in accompanying them on this journey, supporting every effort towards peace, public welfare, and harmony,” he stated.

This initiative not only strengthens critical medical preparedness but also sends a profound message across Manipur that compassion and bravery can heal even the most profound wounds.

He concluded by noting that the residents of Pallel have once again demonstrated that unity is achievable and that the essence of humanity can bridge even the deepest divides.
