The Defence Minister's activities in Lucknow come shortly after a pivotal achievement in India’s defense manufacturing initiative.

On October 18, 2025, in a move that reinforces the vision of self-reliance in defense production, both Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the first batch of BrahMos missiles produced at the BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility Centre in Lucknow.

This advanced facility, part of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor, was virtually inaugurated by the Defence Minister on May 11, 2025, and astonishingly, the initial missiles were prepared for deployment within just five months.

During the inaugural event, Rajnath Singh remarked, "BrahMos is more than just a missile; it epitomizes our nation’s growing indigenous capabilities. The missile is equipped with a traditional warhead and an advanced guidance system, enabling it to strike long distances at supersonic speeds. The combination of speed, precision, and power positions BrahMos among the finest systems globally, making it the backbone of our Armed Forces."
