Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Harsh Malhotra on Friday, 12 June called on Delhi University Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh and handed over a booklet documenting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government as it completes 12 years in office. The outreach is part of a wider BJP initiative to engage prominent figures across society to mark what the party describes as a landmark tenure.

With PM Modi now recognised as the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of India, the BJP has launched a structured programme of engagements with distinguished personalities — academics, professionals, and civic leaders — to highlight what the party calls the Central Government's transformative record over the past 12 years. Later on the same day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Malhotra jointly addressed a press conference to mark the completion of 12 years of what they termed Modi's 'people-centric government.' The event was moderated by BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, with State Vice President and MLA Rajkumar Bhatia also present.

Kapoor said the last 12 years had been devoted to 'building a transformed India.' Chief Minister Gupta described the occasion as 'a celebration of the achievements of a new India,' adding that the benefits of governance over this period had reached all 1.4 billion people in the country.

Addressing reporters, Chief Minister Gupta said that Prime Minister Modi had 'transformed the office of the Prime Minister into a medium of public service rather than merely a position of power, redefining the meaning of leadership.' She cited progress across agriculture, rural development, and space — including the Chandrayaan mission — as evidence of an extraordinary national journey.

Gupta further argued that India, once focused on establishing its global presence, is now 'shaping the global agenda' and is viewed by the world as 'a source of solutions and opportunities.' The transformation, she said, rests on public trust, people's participation, and collective strength.
