New Delhi, April 5 (NationPress) Labeling former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a “Master of Corruption”, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday unveiled RTI documents indicating that the AAP National Convenor allocated Rs 29.56 crore from March 31, 2015, to December 27, 2022, for the upkeep of his official bungalow in north Delhi.

“The scams committed by Kejriwal seem endless. We will demand the Delhi government to investigate how nearly Rs 1 lakh was spent daily on his bungalow’s maintenance. We also expect every rupee to be recovered,” Sachdeva informed IANS.

He stated that Kejriwal has been evading media scrutiny since his electoral defeat in Delhi, but he must confront these pressing corruption inquiries.

“The residents of Delhi anticipate him to explain what was so lacking in his bungalow that Rs 31 lakh monthly was required for its upkeep,” he remarked.

“An annual maintenance cost of Rs 3.69 crore for a government bungalow clearly suggests the opulent level of maintenance Kejriwal insisted on, or it could point to corruption as well,” he added.

The Delhi BJP leader emphasized that this expenditure was solely for general repairs, sewage, electricity, and structural work on Kejriwal’s prior official bungalow situated on Flag Staff Road in the Civil Lines area.

Sachdeva noted that a citizen from Maharashtra submitted an RTI request to obtain details regarding the maintenance expenses for wear and tear, sewage, electricity, and structural work of Kejriwal’s former residence between 2015 and 2022.

“The Delhi government replied on December 29, 2023, providing a detailed breakdown of the expenses. The figures disclosed in the RTI response reveal Kejriwal’s lavish lifestyle and the corruption within government operations,” he stated.

Sachdeva remarked that in Delhi, one could construct a 250-300 sq. yard bungalow for Rs 3-4 crore, making the maintenance cost of Rs 3.69 crore annually for Kejriwal’s bungalow astonishing.

The Delhi BJP chief also criticized AAP leader and former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, who is under a CBI investigation in the liquor scandal.

“We will pursue a CBI investigation against Sisodia for his corruption in the education sector too. Additionally, we will expose the AAP government’s collusion with private educational institutions,” he concluded.
