New Delhi, Oct 19 (NationPress) Criticizing the former AAP administration for misleading judicial authorities regarding pollution matters, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed on Sunday that there is exceptional enthusiasm and happiness among the residents of Delhi following the Supreme Court's approval to celebrate Diwali with green crackers.
“I attribute this success to the voters in Delhi who chose a BJP-led government that was able to secure the Supreme Court's endorsement for reviving this traditional celebration of Diwali,” Sachdeva conveyed to IANS.
He remarked that, after a prolonged period, the citizens have selected a government that genuinely comprehends their sentiments.
“This is why the government confidently presented its case before the Supreme Court, leading to this significant approval,” he stated.
“The previous administration, under Arvind Kejriwal, intentionally misrepresented facts to the Supreme Court that resulted in a denial of permission,” he added.
“The Supreme Court's consent for green crackers has sparked excitement and joy among the populace, especially the children. Why wouldn't it? We must honor our traditions and cultural heritage,” he emphasized.
Earlier, Sachdeva described as unfortunate the attempts by AAP leader Gopal Rai to mislead the public about pollution levels in Delhi.
He accused the AAP of spreading misinformation for the last decade, stating that during their governance, they misled the citizens regarding pollution during Diwali and even imposed a ban on green crackers.
Sachdeva noted that the current weather in Delhi is clear, and pollution levels are significantly lower than in prior years. “This year, we will witness a blend of culture and environmental consciousness in Delhi,” he affirmed.
He added that the Supreme Court's ruling is not only a relief for Delhi residents but also sends a hopeful message across the nation—that development, tradition, and environmental sustainability can coexist.
According to him, the AAP continues to engage in appeasement politics to satisfy a specific segment of society, which is why the party is struggling for its political existence in Delhi.
