Did Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Launch New Aadhaar Service Centre?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 22 (NationPress) Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially launched a new Aadhaar service centre in Azadpur on Thursday. This initiative underscores the government's commitment to ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the intended recipients directly and transparently, without any possibility of leakage.
Additionally, the Delhi government introduced a “Comprehensive Drainage Plan” aimed at addressing the persistent water-logging issues in the Kirari area.
In a social media post, CM Gupta expressed, “The Aadhaar Service Centre in Azadpur has been inaugurated today, dedicated to the public. Residents can now conveniently access essential digital services close to their homes.”
She added, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Aadhaar has become a cornerstone for the rights, dignity, and government programs for the underprivileged. This ensures that all welfare scheme benefits from both the central and Delhi governments reach beneficiaries directly and transparently, without any leakage.”
During the event, MLA Ashok Goyal Dewaraha and other dignitaries were present.
Moreover, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a Chhath Ghat on the Munak Canal in north Delhi.
She remarked that the initiatives for revitalizing the Munak Canal, developing the Chhath Ghat, constructing the service road, and enhancing the Singhalpur Bridge reflect the commitment to “Development alongside Heritage.”
In a related development, Delhi's Water Minister Parvesh Verma criticized the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for neglecting the long-standing water-logging situation in the Kirari Assembly constituency.
He stated that over the last decade, there was a lack of serious efforts to improve the sewer system or drainage infrastructure in the region, leading to annual water-logging issues for the residents.
Verma emphasized that the Rekha Gupta administration has devised a “Comprehensive Drainage Plan” for Kirari and aims to resolve the water-logging problem that the AAP government failed to tackle over 11 years.
He noted that the Kirari Assembly area, home to nearly 10 lakh people across 114 colonies, was denied a drainage plan by the AAP, but the BJP government is determined to resolve the issue within a year.
“The misleading videos circulating about residents’ challenges imply that these issues arose only after the new government assumed office, whereas it is the prior AAP government that is responsible for this negligence,” he stated.
The Minister also mentioned that the Delhi government intends to construct three sewage pumping stations at Baghya Vihar, Prem Nagar, and Pratap Vihar to transport waste from Kirari colonies to the Rohini STP.
