New Delhi, Oct 4 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a thorough review of the preparations for the forthcoming Chhath Puja at the banks of the Yamuna, pledging a remarkable experience for devotees this year.

“Chhath is not merely a festival; it embodies the devotion of women and our reverence for nature. The Delhi government is dedicated to celebrating it with utmost dignity and splendor,” she emphasized.

She surveyed the Yamuna ghats from a boat, traveling from Palla to ITO to assess the arrangements. Starting at Palla, she evaluated preparations at Shyam Ghat, Geeta Colony, Sonia Vihar, Boat Club, and Hathi Ghat.

CM Gupta mentioned that for years, the Purvanchali community in Delhi has been longing for adequate arrangements along the Yamuna to celebrate this significant festival.

“Previous administrations failed to pay attention or make meaningful efforts. This time, the Delhi government assures the Purvanchali community that they will receive magnificent and well-equipped ghats,” she stated.

The Chief Minister declared that this year’s Chhath will be organized in a manner that is “more magnificent, safer, and more convenient than ever before.”

She also guaranteed that numerous ghats across Delhi are being prepared to enable devotees to celebrate the festival comfortably.

During her inspection, the Chief Minister was joined by Cabinet Ministers Pravesh Verma and Kapil Mishra, MLA Abhay Verma, and senior officials.

At Hathi Ghat, women devotees greeted her with traditional Chhath songs and rituals.

The Chief Minister announced that ghats will be constructed wherever there are settlements along the Yamuna, from Palla to Okhla, allowing people to worship closer to home.

She added that the government is also establishing hundreds of ghats within the city.

Referring to Chhath as a festival of “nature, purity, and culture,” CM Gupta stated, “Chhath goes beyond devotion; it promotes the message of preserving our water sources. All arrangements regarding security, cleanliness, lighting, and traffic will be meticulously managed to ensure devotees face no inconvenience.”

The Chief Minister also announced that this year’s event will extend beyond ghat construction.

“Cultural programs will also be featured to celebrate the festival with devotion, culture, and collective enthusiasm,” she added.

She further emphasized that all Delhi Government ministers, MLAs, and relevant officials are diligently working, and preparations for the ghats are ongoing.

Minister Pravesh Verma affirmed that this year, Delhi will host a remarkable and well-organized Chhath Puja.

The banks of the Yamuna are being meticulously developed to ensure that devotees have access to clean, safe, and well-arranged ghats.
