New Delhi, May 30 (NationPress) The West District division of the Delhi Police has successfully apprehended a 19-year-old suspect in relation to a theft that occurred at an NGO office in Janakpuri earlier this month. The suspect, known as Rohan alias Khanka, was arrested in Mahavir Enclave, and authorities recovered one stolen mobile phone and 11 tablets from his possession.
As per a press release from the West District Police, the burglary took place on May 13, 2025, at the office of 'Protsaahan India Foundation', situated within the Janak Cinema Complex in Janakpuri.
The complainant reported that upon arriving at the office that morning, he discovered a broken sliding window and several electronic items missing, including three mobile phones, 12 tablets, and a laptop charger.
In response, a dedicated police team was formed under the direction of SHO K.K. Tiwari from PS Janakpuri, with overall guidance from ACP Rajouri Garden, Ms. Neeraj Tokas. The team, which included HC Sandeep, HC Ramkishan, HC Ankit, W/HC Vandana, and Ct. Samarjeet, commenced a detailed investigation, reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity and utilizing technical surveillance.
“During the investigation, multiple CCTV cameras were scrutinized, and footage was collected and assessed. With the aid of technical surveillance, one of the stolen mobile phones was traced to Mahavir Enclave, Delhi,” the press release stated.
A raid was then conducted at the specified location, where the suspect was found with the stolen mobile device.
Further searches at his home led to the recovery of 11 out of the 12 stolen tablets.
Efforts are still underway to locate the remaining stolen items, including the other mobile phones and the laptop charger.
The suspect, a resident of Mahavir Enclave, is currently in police custody and is being interrogated for potential connections to other similar offenses.
